2021 is a special year, it marks the centennial of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party. The whole country is full of great joy. On September 27th, more than 1700 students and teachers from 30 different countries and regions of Soong Ching Ling School celebrated the 72nd Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China. We assembled to express the sincerest blessing to China through a flash mob activity.
"China Red"is the core of our spirit
The celebration started with the strong voices of all students from the bottom of their hearts:"Please count on me, on the way to a stronger country." The national flag rose slowly with the singing of the national anthem. The splendid"China Red" shows the pride of all Chinese people, and also the love and respect to Chinese culture from all the international teachers and students.
Sunny Sun, a 12th grade student, said: "It’s my great honor to be the flag-raiser in this special national day flash mob celebration. No matter where I go in the future, I will cherish it as the most precious memory in my heart."
Three classic Chinese songs, "Together forever", "My Motherland and Me" and "Country", were sung by students and faculties to express the best and sincerest wishes to our country. Like a time ship, the beautiful melody carried everyone through those glorious years of China’s flourishing development.
The students sang "Country", with sign language of heart and home, to express their love to China.
Colorful balloons and waving flags turned the entire campus into red. Everyone is immersed in the ocean of joy. Best Wishes to China!
Patriotism is the common emotion shared by all mankind
All the Chinese and foreign teachers & students have participated in the national day celebration flash mob activities since it started 6 years ago. The harmony between teachers and students interprets the openness and tolerance of Chinese culture, also reflects the innovation, enterprising and transcending spirit of Soong Ching Ling School.
Patriotism is an emotion shared by all mankind. Emma Gonzalez-Cueto, a high school student from Argentina, is the lead singer of "My Motherland and Me". She said:" I like the lyrics of ‘Lark flying over the blue sky’ best. This beautiful melody and words reflect the beautiful scenery of China in my mind."It is Emma’s 6th year at SCLS. She has been participating in SCLS’s National Day flash-mob celebration since the first one was held. This annual activity helped her build up a deeper understanding of the Chinese culture and tradition. "It’s very nice and meaningful", Emma said.
In this "little global village" of Soong Ching Ling School, teachers and students from different counties and regions gather and work together collegially here. They learn Chinese culture, build the understanding and appreciation of this great country.
President Xi Jinping said that the love for one’s motherland is the deepest and most enduring sentiment in the world. Soong Ching Ling School is the only school that named after Madame Soong Ching Ling in the basic education stage, which strives to nurture students with deep patriotism, culture confidence and a global vision rooted in China, because the students are the builders of a better world.
