On May 20th, the annual International Art Festival at Soong Ching Ling School (SCLS) was held in the Shanghai Grand Theatre. It is considered to be an annual ceremony for children, parents and teachers at SCLS. On this day, the national stage in Shanghai Grand Theater belongs to the children, who enjoy the happiness brought by the arts, the success after hard work and the glory of being a member of the excellent team. For children, it is not only a stage for performance, but also a memorable experience in their life, through which they gain a sense of responsibility, a sense of belonging and confidence to express themselves.
The theme of the 6th International Art Festival is “classic and future”. As a famous saying goes by Madame Soong Ching Ling, “The development of children is the development of future.” The curriculum and activities offered by SCLS insist on inheriting classic culture, adopting Chinese traditional culture as the foundation, and meanwhile promoting international perspectives with better understanding of diversity. The school aims to cultivate talents with intercultural skills so as to create a better world in the long run.
