幸遇宋校，重塑自我
我与宋校有着割舍不断的缘分，幼儿园毕业后短暂的离开让我对宋校一直充满怀念，当拿到宋庆龄学校初中部录取通知书时，依然是那么亲切，强烈的直觉告诉我：我一定要回来，这里才是最适合我的。
I have an inseparable bond with Soong Ching Ling School. My short time away after graduating from kindergarten made me miss Soong Ching Ling School all the time. When I got the offer from SCLS Middle School, my strong intuition told me: I must come back; this should be the best place for me.
刚入校时初中部处于初创阶段，校长Dr. Magee的到来使初中部逐渐成熟。可以实时查看成绩的engrade系统上线，图书馆改造扩建，丰富多彩的社团越来越多……我也伴随着宋庆龄学校的变化一路成长、收获。
The middle school was new when I first joined; however, everything started to change after the arrival of Dr. Magee, the principal. She helped the middle school and high school to mature. The Engrade system allowed us to check our grades whenever we wanted, there was the renovation and expansion of the library, many diverse clubs, and many other things. I have grown and gained so much along with the development of Soong Ching Ling School.
宋校的教育环境民主、自由，充分尊重每一位学生的个性发展。这让我有更多时间去拓展自己的兴趣爱好，花样滑冰、声乐、舞蹈、羽毛球……正是源于对这些爱好的探索，让我认识到自己对花样滑冰和体育的热爱。不断进取、永不言败的体育精神也时刻激励着我，这对我高中时期的学习及未来的人生规划都产生了重大的影响。
SCLS creates a democratic and free learning environment for students, which fully respects individual student's development. This has given me more time to expand my hobbies, such as figure skating, vocal, and dancing, etc. From exploring, I found my passion towards sports and figure skating. The spirit of being tenacious and brave that I learned from sports had a significant impact on me.
“Quoffe” 开启我思考与自省之路
9年级社会学课堂上，Mr. Hovey用他独创的“Quoffe”教会了我如何深度思考及反思。他带领我们探究了许多社会现象，非洲童工、性别歧视、种族歧视等等。从中，我发现女性在社会上依旧面临着许多不平等的待遇。很多女性正遭受暴力或被迫放弃工作，女孩被剥夺上学的权利或面临童婚。
In Grade 9 society study class, Mr. Hovey used his creative way of teaching to let me know how to reflect and think. He led us to investigate social problems, such as child labor, gender discrimination, etc. I found out that women face lots of inequalities. Meanwhile, lots of women encounter violence and unemployment, and girls have been deprived the right to learn.
作为一个受过良好教育的女孩，我觉得有义务帮助她们争取自己的权益。于是开设了公众号“Seeking”·寻找，从青少年的角度关注女性权益，讲述女性故事、探索女性面临的问题，愿它能成为维护女性权益的Missionaries。人类已取得前所未有的进步，但没有一个国家完全实现性别平等。我们应该一起为性别平等而努力，女性的未来取决于我们所有人！
As a well-educated teenage girl, I have the responsibility to convey the information about gender equality to millions of global Chinese speakers. Thus, I set up a website to focus on womens’rights, tell womens’stories, and explore womens’issues from the perspective of teenagers. There's still no country that has actually achieved complete gender equality. There is still a long way to go. We must work together for gender equality and pursue of justice.
调研过程中，我发现联合国妇女署的官网翻译语言只有英文、西班牙语、法语，我致信联合国妇女署主席，建议将中文设为官方语言之一。向中国女性使用者打开这扇文明之窗，让她们更便捷地认识、了解联合国妇女署的工作，更多地参与其中，让妇女署的工作也获得更广泛的影响。
I made a recommendation to UN Women to launch a Chinese version of its website, which will hopefully become the next official language launched on the UN Women website after English, French and Spanish. By opening this window of civilization to female Chinese speakers, they will be able to know and understand the work of UN Women more easily and participate more effectively in the projects and work processes organized by UN Women, so that the work of UN Women will gain a wider impact, increased efficiency, and better results.
这一切都离不开Mr. Hovey对我的鼓励，他建议我和闺蜜参加National History Day，让我对Christian Dior以及时尚的演变有了更多了解。
This can't leave without the encouragement from Mr. Hovey. He suggested that a friend and I participate in National History Day, which led me to understand about Christian Dior and fashion evolution. Meanwhile, I viewed lots of brilliant exhibits, which widened my horizon.

体育伴随着我成长，很幸运在5岁时我便找到了自己的兴趣爱好——花样滑冰。我享受在冰场上旋转、跳跃，自由滑行的感觉。滑冰是我放松的方法之一，同时它也让我领悟到许多人生哲理和拼搏的含义。
Sports grew up with me and I was lucky to find my hobby, figure skating, when I was 5 years old. I enjoyed the feeling of spinning and jumping on the ice. Skating is one of my ways to relax. Meanwhile, it has had a major impact on my life.
赛场上的成就离不开训练场上无数次的摔倒。有数据统计：练习9999次可以成功磨练出一种跳跃。学习菲利普跳时，我练习了整整一年才成功落冰。备战时，每天放学后就直接去冰场训练，直到晚上10点才结束，回家还要完成课业。尽管过程辛苦，但对花滑的热爱一直推动着我，不管再苦再累，从不曾放弃，在冰场上优雅地跳跃、旋转，呈现出最佳的表演，一直是我的至高追求。
Standing on the podium can't leave without countless falls in training. The data shows that only after 9999 practices will lead to one success type of jump. When I was learning Flip, I practiced for a whole year before I landed it. When I was preparing for the competition, I trained until 10:00 p.m. every day, and I had to finish my schoolwork after the training. Although training is tiring, my passion towards figure skating always motivates me. No matter how hard it is, I never give up because of my pursuit to perform graceful jumping and spinning in the performance.

基于从小受到“勇于挑战”的体育精神熏陶，也是受到同学们对飞盘运动热情的感召,我决心要成立一直属于宋校的飞盘校队。想要精通一项体育一定需要专业的指导和刻苦训练，作为飞盘队的经理人，我在多方的帮助下找到了一位杰出的飞盘教练，并请艺术课的同学设计了队服和队徽，在学校的支持下飞盘校队正式成为校队大家庭的一员。
Since sportmanship started to impact me in childhood and the enthusiasm that students embrace toward frisbee, I was determined to start a frisbee team that would always belong to SCLS. As the manager of the frisbee team, I found an outstanding frisbee coach and asked my art classmates for help to design the team uniform and logo.
在创建和管理飞盘队的过程中，我逐渐找到了自己的对口专业。我热爱体育，并享受体育带给我的快乐，所以我希望在大学可以学习体育管理，以后致力于中国体育事业的发展。在此，我非常感谢学校及所有老师对我的信任，在你们的支持下，我才能成功创建飞盘校队，探索出自己未来的方向。
In the process of creating and managing the frisbee team, I gradually found a major that interested me. I love sports and enjoy the happiness that it brings to me. So, I hope to study sport management in college and dedicate my future career to the development of the sport industry in China. I would like to thank the school and all the staff for their trust. With your support, I was able to successfully create a varsity frisbee team and explore my future direction.
申请总结
时光荏苒，不知不觉中紧张繁忙的高中生活即将结束，我的申请季也告一段落。我非常享受大学申请的过程，因为它给了我一次总结自己18年人生的机会，让我重新找到自己的定位并有了更清晰的方向。
Time passed, along with the the ending of my application season, my busy but substantial high school life is near to the end. I learned a lot in the college application process because it provided me a chance to summarize my past 18 years and identify my future.
寄语学弟学妹们：
刚刚步入高中，也许你认为自己离大学申请还有很长时间，但其实现在的每一步都是在为大学申请铺垫。9年级开始的成绩将决定你们未来大学的排名，也许你认为一个C或D不会对未来有任何影响，但3年后你可能会为现在的偷懒而后悔、焦虑。所以，希望你们每时每刻都要认真对待自己的成绩。但是，学习并不是生活的全部，课后活动和社团也将对申请产生莫大的帮助。积极探索兴趣爱好、丰富自己、绽放光彩，莫负时光的馈赠！
As you enter high school, you might think that college applications are still far away from you; however, every step you take is actually affecting your college applications. Grades from 9th grade will determine your future college rankings. Maybe you believe that a C or D doesn't make any differences now, but three years from now you might regret it and feel anxious. So, I recommend you to take your GPA seriously. Moreover, studying is not the only thing in life; after-school activities and clubs will also help your application immensely. Exploring and enriching yourself, don't waste your youth.
