We are thrilled to share the incredible journey our Grade 3 students took during Quarter 3 as part of their performance task for our Economics unit. Over the past several weeks, students worked diligently to prepare for Market Day, where they had the opportunity to apply their understanding of economics and demonstrate important life skills in an engaging and authentic way.


Through a series of scaffolded lessons, students first explored key economic concepts, including goods and services, budgeting, and supply and demand. They then shifted into the planning phase, where they created a full business plan that included a budget, advertisement, and self-made product or service. Throughout this process, students constructed ideas for their business, set short-term goals, and developed essential real-world skills—such as time management, organization, production, and communication.


During the planning process, students predicted how many goods they wanted to sell and established prices based on supply and demand. They carefully considered how to stay within budget while aiming to make a profit, developing practical financial awareness in the process. By stepping into the roles of both producers and consumers, students gained first-hand experience in how communities function through trade and interdependence.


On Market Day, the classroom came alive as students opened their businesses and welcomed their customers—Grade 1 students, classmates, and even teachers. 


It was a wonderful opportunity to see students interacting with confidence, promoting their products and services, and engaging in real transactions. The energy and excitement were contagious, and it was clear how much pride students took in their hard work.

After the event, students reflected thoughtfully on their experience as entrepreneurs. They considered whether they had met their goals, whether they made a profit, and how they might improve their product or business strategy next time. This reflection process supported the development of a growth mindset, helping students recognize their strengths and areas for improvement as they thought critically about their planning and performance.


Market Day was more than just a celebration—it was a meaningful learning experience that brought our Economics unit to life. Students deepened their understanding of how money flows within a community and how informed decisions impact both producers and consumers. They also practiced using key vocabulary and economic concepts in a fun, hands-on way.



We celebrate our Grade 3 students for their incredible effort, creativity, and collaboration throughout this unit. Their entrepreneurial spirit was on full display, and we couldn’t be prouder of the way they embraced the challenge. Market Day not only showcased their learning but also highlighted the importance of economic literacy and life skills that will serve them far beyond the classroom.

从概念到实践的奇妙蜕变

通过一系列循序渐进的课程,孩子们不断深入探究商品与服务、成本核算、供需法则等核心概念。随后开启头脑风暴,制定包含预算表、营销方案与原创产品的一份完整《商业计划书》。

过程中,孩子们充分发挥创意,构思出一个个独具匠心的创业点子,设定了清晰明确的短期目标,更在不知不觉中培养了诸多至关重要的现实技能,如精准的时间管理、严谨的组织规划、高效的生产制造,以及出色的沟通交流能力。

小掌柜的“商业罗盘”

在规划阶段,孩子们凭借敏锐的洞察力,预测出自己期望售出的商品数量,并根据供求关系的微妙变化,制定合理的价格策略。他们深思熟虑,力求在严格遵守预算的前提下,实现盈利的最大化,在此过程中,务实的财务意识悄然生根发芽。他们在“生产者”与“消费者”的角色切换中,切身感受到经济链条的齿轮是如何咬合运转。

集市日当天,教室化作迷你商业综合体,孩子们纷纷敞开店门,热情迎接每一位顾客——无论是天真可爱的一年级学弟学妹,还是朝夕相处的同窗好友,甚至包括和蔼可亲的老师们。

小小企业家们自信满满地与顾客互动交流,热情洋溢地推销着自己的产品和服务,全身心投入到真实的交易之中,使出的十八般武艺,让抽象的经济学概念在欢声笑语中落地生根。

活动结束后,孩子们回顾自己作为企业家的难忘经历。他们认真思考是否达成既定目标,是否实现盈利的预期,以及下一次如何改进产品或商业策略。这一反思过程,如同一位无声的导师,助力孩子们培养成长型思维,使他们在批判性思考自己的规划与表现时,能够敏锐地认识到自身的优势与不足,为未来的成长奠定坚实基础。

集市日远非一场简单的活动所能概括,它更是一次意义深远的学习体验,让我们的经济学单元焕发出勃勃生机。孩子们在此过程中,深化了对社区内资金流动规律的理解,深刻领悟到明智决策如何巧妙地影响生产者与消费者的利益。他们更在轻松愉快的实践活动中,自如地运用了关键术语和经济学概念,将理论知识与实际操作完美融合。
