At 3:00 p.m. on March 12, 2021, the exhibition of "An Outstanding Lady with Dazzling Brilliance—The Impression of Soong Ching Ling" opened in Shanghai Soong Ching Ling School(SCLS). The exhibition focuses on the five key words, namely “Family”,“School”, “Marriage”, “Career” and “Friend”. With about 100 high-resolution historical photos, 30 historical stories in both Chinese and English, more than 10 interactive exhibits and dozens of culture and creative products, the exhibition highlights the growth experience, life impression and beautiful image of Madame Soong Ching Ling, one of the founders of the People's Republic of China.
As the only school named after Madame Soong Ching Ling in China, SCLS has inherited the philosophy of "Give Children the Most Valuable Things" from Madame Soong Ching Ling. SCLS has also created rich, balanced, and challenging courses which develop students rooted in China with international perspectives and global competitiveness.
More than 150 volumes of books about Dr. Sun Yat-Sen and Madame Soong Ching Ling, as well as many precious videos and audio stories of Madame Soong Ching Ling are also presented at the exhibition. These valuable resources will be permanently settled in the school library in the form of "Special Bookcase of Dr. Sun Yat-Sen and Madame Soong Ching Ling". This exhibition held in SCLS is a collaboration between Shanghai Administrative Committee of the Historic Relics of Sun Yat-sen and Soong Ching Ling and the school, and an innovative attempt to "Bring Museums Into Schools".
The exhibition opens on the 96th anniversary of the death of Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, the great pioneer of national democratic revolution, and will last until May 29, 2021, the 40th anniversary of Madame Soong Ching Ling's death. It's not only our sincerest memorial of the two great people, but also a commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.
For all SCLSers, the exhibition is a perfect combination of patriotism education and commemorative activities. The spirit of Dr. Sun Yat-sen and Madame Soong Ching Ling will live in our hearts forever!
