Growing up in a free and inclusive environment, immersed in the education of love, nourished by the blending of Chinese and Western cultures for twelve years, our students have developed the virtues of humility and tenacity, fostering open-minded attitudes to embrace diverse cultures and the confidence to take on future responsibilities for their families, schools, nations, and the world. They grew up with our school for twelve years, and now, they have been admitted to their dream schools and achieved new breakthroughs.

An Average of 8 Offers and ~$90,000 in Scholarships Per Student
The graduating SCLSID Class of 2024 will be our final “micro-sized” class. Among the graduates, nearly 80% of the students are children who grew up in SCLS for 12 years. Up to now, the 17 students have obtained 133 admissions offers from universities around the world, yielding an average of 8 offers per student. A total of nearly $1.5 million U.S. dollars has been awarded in scholarships, giving an average of nearly $90,000 per student. According to the offers already received, our admission rate at the top 10 universities (as ranked by QS World University/US News) is approximately 40%, and 100% of these students admitted to top 10 universities are children who have grown up at SCLSID for 12 years. Another cause to celebrate is the fact that, for the first time in our school’s history, the admission rate at top 30 universities has reached 100%.
Breaking through Admission Ceilings at both American National Universities and Liberal Arts Colleges
During the EA/ED application round for American universities, an SCLSID student received the sole offer in Shanghai from Stanford University! Later, during the regular decision round, an SCLSID student successfully knocked on the door of Amherst College, one of the most selective liberal arts colleges in the United States. This graduating cohort has not only broken through these twin admission ceilings of American national universities and liberal arts colleges, but they have continuously refreshed the undergraduate admission records of SCLSID:

In addition to these pioneering breakthroughs, SCLSID students have maintained impressive results in undergraduate admissions to various colleges and universities across the United States:
For three consecutive years now, SCLSID students have received offers from New York University, University of California - San Diego, University of California - Davis (8 out of 9 of our applicants were admitted), University of California - Irvine, University of California - Santa Barbara, and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. For two consecutive years, they have been admitted to the University of Rochester and the University of Richmond. Turning toward admissions at U.S. art schools, SCLSID students once again were admitted to the Rhode Island School of Design, which is ranked as the top 1 art school in the USA.
Admissions to Global Universities in Full Bloom, Admission Results Highlighting the Trends of Diversification and Internationalization
Besides choosing to study in the USA, graduates of the Class of 2024 also regarded many other countries and regions as potential study destinations and received offers from universities across the world. In U.K. universities, SCLSID students received our first-ever offer from Imperial College London as well as University College London (UCL), with 4 admissions. In Canada, SCLSID students were admitted to McGill University, the University of Toronto, and the University of British Columbia—the top three universities in Canada—for the past two consecutive years, maintaining a 100% admission rate in the University of Toronto. In Hong Kong, we have achieved grand slams with multiple admissions to the University of Hong Kong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and the City University of Hong Kong.
In addition to gaining admission to universities in perennially popular countries and regions such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Hong Kong, our graduates have also extended their studies to more niche countries such as Ireland and Japan, obtaining offers from Trinity University Dublin in Ireland and Keio University in Japan.

Behind these shining achievements and the realization of being admitted to their dream schools are the warm stories of the students who have taken personalized educational paths at SCLSID. Our campus fosters respectful and tolerant learning environments in which students’ voices can be heard and their curiosity and thirst for knowledge can be protected. SCLSID Chinese and foreign educators who carefully teach and care for the students, practicing the education philosophy of “Give children the most valuable things” day after day with inclusive curricular and teaching practices integrating both Chinese and Western teaching methods. The graduates of the Class of 2024 are carefully carved jades. Having been immersed in SCLSID’s education of love for years, just as jade stones are shaped by trained artisans, our students have been crafted into mature young people, retaining their unique personalities while developing their own paths toward future success.
Every graduate of the Class of 2024 is a shining star. They are as bright as the stars in the night sky, emitting unique lights. We are extremely delighted to see them pursuing their dreams and heading towards new homes to become the best versions of themselves. We look forward to seeing them opening a new chapter in their lives and performing on the world stage!
The curtain has slowly fallen on undergraduate applications for the Class of 2024, with an average of 8 admissions per student. However, SCLSID students did not follow the crowd nor be guided only by ranking lists. Instead, they followed their own hearts, chose the university and major that best suited them, and continued to pursue their dreams across a wide range of fields. AP Capstone Diploma Program
SCLSID High School is authorized to offer the “AP Capstone Diploma Program” by the US-based College Board. This diploma goes beyond the demands of AP courses, helping students develop key skills that they will use over and over in college, such as research, analysis, evidence-based arguments, collaboration, writing and presenting, and has been recognized by world-top universities such as Harvard and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
