On September 26, more than 1900 students and teachers of Soong Ching Ling School from 30 different countries and regions celebrated the 73rd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. All students and teachers assembled to express their sincerest blessing to China through a flash mob activity.
"China Red"is the core of our spirit
Nearly 2000 teachers and students gathered on the central lawn of the campus at noon.
Four MCs from different divisions kicked off the whole activity in both Chinese and English languages. Liu Xinmeng, a primary school student from the International Division, said, "I will shout out my determination in the loudest voice! ". " I love you, China! " This sonorous and powerful voice comes from the bottom of all students' hearts, with their eyes twinkling with light.
"If the young people are strong, the country will be strong!" This is the sincere expectation of President Xi Jinping towards our youth.
With the MC saying, "Face the national flag", everyone stood in awe with all eyes staring at the rising five-star red flag. A love with pride towards their motherland emerged on everyone's face.
The red scarfs fluttered in the breeze. Led by six students as leading singers, all students at primary school sang the song of“the same song”for their motherland. This is also the first time for grade one new students to participate in such big activities in the school. Shi Jian, an art teacher who participated in the national day celebration every year, said affectionately: "The flash mob on the National Day helps to sow the seed of love towards motherland deeply in the hearts of our children.”
All middle school students presented the song“tomorrow will be better” accompanied by folk music to express their good wishes for the motherland and world peace. Chu Liang, a member of the organizing committee, said, "There are many international students in our school who specially learned the history of China and the story of Chinese national flag in the preparation of this celebration activity in order to better understand and love China." It has always been the goal of SCLS to cultivate students with a philanthropic spirit and a perspective view of the world.
The chorus "I love you, China" pushed the activity to a climax. Matt, the head of the art department from the United States, and a student of the Domestic Division came to the stage to lead the singing together. Matt, who has been working in SCLS for six years, said with excitement, "It's great to get together after being separated from the children for so many months, especially with such wonderful music!"
At last, all the teachers and students waved the national flag in their hands and shouted, "I love you, China!”. The whole campus turned red with thousands of balloons flown away carrying the blessing to China. Wang Qi, a member of the organizing committee, said excitedly, "It's so impressive to witness such a large event involving thousands of people being presented very perfectly without having a full rehearsal. Our children have done a great job.”
The annual National Day flash mob is the most anticipated moment for children. After the event, everyone was reluctant to leave. Jing Siteng, a Domestic Division Primary School student, said excitedly, "I like the National Day flash event in SCLS very much. Every year, I celebrate our motherland's birthday with my classmates with singing and dancing." Zhang Ling, a student who waved the national flag, said proudly, "I am sincerely proud of our motherland!" Deng Tingyu, a student at International Division Primary School, expressed her wishes for the motherland: "I wish our motherland could get better and better, just like what has been described in the song. "
Sing with love “Global Village”is our shared home
During the epidemic, the motherland's determination to overcome difficulties has encouraged all teachers and students of SCLS, "After going through all the hardship, we finally could gather together and enjoy this happy moment... All Chinese and foreign teachers and students couldn't help saying, "bless you, China! “
President Xi Jinping said it is the historical responsibility of the patriotic united front in the new era to promote the great unity of the Chinese people. The celebration of National Day has sown the seed of Chinese culture and red spirits in children's hearts. No matter how long it takes or how far they go, they will always remember the song sung for China.
