SCLS has always prioritized respecting each child's needs and encouraging students to learn and reach their full potential. SCLS's school motto is “Foster excellence in yourself and others, and build a better world." The core value of the International Elementary School, PRIDE, is a great extension and realization of this. All teaching and learning activities at the IDPS are centered around PRIDE. Each student is expected to show pride in all parts of the school, not only in the hallways and classrooms but especially when they are playing and enjoying themselves outside.

Crazy Hat Day

Like Crazy Hat Day, this is a day where students can pick or make funny and silly hats, bring them in and show each other. It is always a lot of fun.
像疯狂帽子日，同学们会在这一天挑选或制作有趣帽子，把他们带进校园，并向大家展示，各种古灵精怪富有创意的帽子，非常有趣。

Halloween
万圣节
And, of course, Halloween! Halloween is a favorite event for many teachers and students. This year we had activities spread all over the school. There were games in the gym for grades 3 to 5; plays in and around their building for grades 1 to 2; and trick-or-treating across the school.
当然还有万圣节，万圣节是很多老师和学生最喜欢的活动，今年的活动遍布整个学校，体育馆里有三到五年级的比赛，教学楼内和周围遍布给一、二年级的游戏，当然还有必不可缺的讨糖活动。

Besides offering a large variety of books for the students, we also have our library trivia quiz to test students’ knowledge of various books. Each class puts together a team for this friendly competition.
除了为学生提供大量的书籍外，老师们还准备了图书馆的小测验，测试孩子们对各种书籍的知识，每个班级都组建了一个团队参加这个友好的比赛。
DEAR活动
At the same time, DEAR is also a fun activity. It stands for drop everything and read students will stop and read wherever they are, making this an amusing way to show students that you can read anywhere.
同时，DEAR也是一项有趣的活动，它代表着“放下一切去阅读”，同学们在任何地方都会停下来阅读，用这种有趣的方式，向同学们展示阅读不受空间的限制。

Finally, the winners were announced at our Pride assembly. We encourage all the students to participate. Here is a look at some of our winners. Those who did not win will still get to see their bookmarks on posters around the school.
最后，我们举办了隆重的PRIDE大会宣布获奖者，在学习中，在活动中，在校园的每个角落，老师都看到了他们的努力和进步，在他们的身上看到了成长，看到了为成为优秀的宋校学子所做的努力，让我们恭喜所有获奖的同学，没有获奖的同学也不要气馁，积极参与，享受乐趣也能拥有很大的收获。
Madame Soong Ching Ling said,“Give Children The Most Valuable Things.” we teach students to show pride to guide them to be critical thinkers as well as tolerant, respectful, curious, and responsible citizens of China and the more fantastic world.
