Overview

The length of schooling in DDMS is four years, and now there are 9 classes in total. Based on excellent Chinese traditional culture, taking in outstanding western educational thoughts and practices, and inheriting educational philosophy from Madame Soong Ching Ling, DDMS has made abundant, multiple, balanced and challenging course plans with the educational essence of both the east and the west, aiming at “putting students’ development in the first place, fulfil their potential, cultivate personality, and promote comprehensive and harmonious develop

Following the curriculum rationale of “respecting natural instincts, developing individuality, cultivating creativity”, the basic courses are reconstructed by means of “subject + subject”, “subject + grade”, “subject + life” and “subject + skill” on the basis of the high-quality implement of national curriculum, to inspire the students to authentic learning, inquiry learning and deep learning, and to promote the development of students’ fundamental learning capacity, basic competencies and values at a high level.

Platforms are built to give students more exposure to a multicultural environment, so as to improve their cognitive structure, broaden learning channels, modify learning methods, enrich learning experience and fulfill potentials, which provides continual impetus and infinite possibilities for their future development. The extensive courses consist of six series including thematic education, campus festivals, academic lectures, elective courses, club activities and social practice, and four aspects covering art and humanity, science and innovation, sports competition, and practice and operation.

These courses include the second foreign language, “STEM+”, scientific thinking and humanistic quality, etc. Recently, the construction of interdisciplinary courses has been strengthened to expand the course group, and efforts put into the creation of honors courses with distinctive characteristics, laying equal stress on each of the “5-dimension education”, to meet students’ need for multiple intelligence, potential advantage, and personalized learning.
