Introduction of the Presenter:

Mr. Shen Jun Tai, Professor of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Chinese Academy of Science, has been awarded the “Newton Advanced Fellowship” of the Royal Society. His researches mainly focus on the galaxy structure and dynamics, and have made internationally recognized achievements. The dynamic model of the Milky Way nucleus established by him has put forward a new theory instead of the classic one in the Milky Way study. Meanwhile, he has several first-author papers quoted by renowned textbooks including "Galactic Dynamics", "The Formation and Evolution of Galaxies" and the latest international astronomy reference book edited by the University of Cambridge. He has also been invited to serve as the conference review expert of the American NSF.


Summary of the Lecture:

How big is our universe? Is there a boundary in the universe? Where are we in the universe?  Are there any planets and aliens similar to us? Why is the 2019 Nobel Prize in Physics awarded to the astronomers?  The presenter will take you to look up at the starry sky with a heart of curiosity and exploration.
