Lots of new changes in SCLS campus have made the students take delight in talking about every semester. This semester, the topic they talked most is the brand-new school canteen. With the better flavor and more choices on food, students say that they are very happy to dine in the new canteen.

Chef's Recommendation is provided every day.We interviewed the Executive chef Mr. Antonio Verzeni for our Wechat essay.
Mr. Antonio is from Italy. He likes food very much, and he dreamed to be a chef since he was a child. As the Executive Chef in Soong Ching Ling School Canteen, he said:"The biggest difference from SCLS to other schools is students are top priority here.The school cares about the students in all aspects, from the safety of the floor to the quality of the food, even the sugar we add when cooking ."Mr. Antonio says he is very happy about this.
Mr. Antonio likes to go to the different counters and talks with the students to get some feedbacks and to help him understand what they like, what they would like and what can be improved.
Comfortable Dining Environment
Refurbished during the summer , the school canteen impressed everyone with its new look. Students, faculties and staff now have a more comfortable, pleasant and cozy dining environment.

All 5th graders, middle and high school students are eating on the first floor of our canteen. Big varieties of food options are provided here, students can choose what they like to eat. Younger students from grade 1-4 are eating on the second floor, nutritious, delicious Chinese and Western set-menu dishes can well meet the students’ needs of growth.
The new coffee shop located at the corner of the canteen is new too. Drinks and bakeries are provided to high school students as well as faculty and staff. This is really plus for the SCLS community.
Convenient Dining Procedure
To provide safer, quicker service, the new canteen launched the "Facial Recognition"system. This kind of no contact purchase procedure really makes the dining more convenient and efficient.Students no longer need to worry about forgetting bringing their lunch cards. Parents can easily know about what their child(ren)’s eat at school via the specific mini apps binded to their mobile phone.

Eat Nutritious, Eat Healthy, Eat Well
To meet the different tastes of teachers and students, SCLS new canteen provides different kinds of cuisine including Chinese traditional set, Asain noodles, Western set menu, Sandwiches, Pizza, Teppanyaki and so on. There are now 18 food service counters and every day dozens of healthy dishes are provided. Our exclusive nutritionist will match the diet according to the nutritional ratio to ensure students have a balanced and healthy intake of nutrients.
